Kisspeptin is a naturally occurring neuropeptide that plays a key regulatory role in the reproductive hormone axis. It acts on receptors in the hypothalamus to stimulate the release of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH), which then signals the pituitary gland to release luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH).

Through this pathway, kisspeptin acts as an upstream regulator of reproductive hormone signaling.
